“It’s for La Gente: Cuba Beneath the Facade” explores the real Cuba through the eyes of its people. As a Black woman with Latino roots, I bridge cultures to highlight the tension between tourism and truth. Through local voices, the film reveals Cuba’s political struggles, dreams, and resilience—urging viewers to rethink travel as a tool for solidarity and sustainable change.
